A city with many buildings and roads

The PAGE team in Cambodia is now set and activities have intensified since the inception mission last October. This activity increase is translated into a series of significant meetings held in January to strengthen ties with the UN Country Team and prepare the Scoping Study.

Strengthening ties with the UNCT

With the aim to grow a close collaboration to UN Country team, PAGE Cambodia met with Mr. Joseph Scheuer UN Resident Coordinator in Cambodia to discuss PAGE Cambodia progress since 2022 and the contributions from PAGE to the development process of UNSDCF 2024-2028.

Scoping Study coming ahead

PAGE Cambodia is setting ground to develop the Scoping Study. PAGE Cambodia has engaged the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) to conduct policy scoping study to set out its concrete engagement plan beyond the inception phase

The CDRI is a national research intuition well known for its independent, objective, and high-quality policy-relevant development research.

The Scoping Study aims to identify opportunities and options for macroeconomic and sectoral policy reform to advance an Inclusive Green Economy and green economic recovery in the country. It will serve as a guide for the country in the elaboration of green and inclusive economic policies.

Memoradum of Understanding

Additionally, PAGE Cambodia further discussed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the lead government agency.  PAGE Cambodia engaged with H.E. Ngin Lina, Deputy Secretary General of the General Secretariat of Sustainable Development, to set the stage for further discussion on how to practically coordinate with other line ministries and key stakeholders including private sectors to meaningfully engage them in the scoping study process and beyond.

Cambodia and PAGE

Cambodia joined the partnership in June 2022. UNITAR acts as the main coordinating agency. The main Government counterpart is the Department for Green Economy at the Ministry of Environment, in its capacity as the General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development.
