Korea pledge 2025

During this year’s World Environment Day (WED) celebrations in Jeju, the Republic of Korea underscored its ongoing dedication to global green initiatives. On 4 June, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, Inger Andersen, met with the Republic of Korea’s Environment Minister, Kim Wan-sup, in Seogwipo-si.

Renewing a long-standing commitment, the Ministry of Environment signed a new contribution for 2026 to the Multi-Partner Trust Fund of the five-agency partnership. The Republic of Korea has been contributing to PAGE annually since 2013, marking over 12 years of successful partnership in advancing green economic action globally.

"I am deeply grateful to the Republic of Korea for hosting us this year, and for being a global leader on many environmental issues".
