PAGE together with the ICV Institute (Instituto Centro de Vida) and UNITAR held four in-person training workshops throughout the month of June with a focus on the smart tool (e-SEIAF). It aimed to strengthen the capacity of officials and family agriculture representatives to collect data using the State’s new e-SEIAF tool.

In total four municipalities participated in the in-person training:

  • Várzea Grande: 1-2 June
  • Querência: 5-6 June
  • Alta Floresta: 19-20 June
  • Cotriguaçu: 22-23 June

The smart tool (e-SEIAF) enables producers to upload data linked to the production and commercialization of goods, thus helping to formalize a traditionally informal sector and provide policymakers with improved data.

The objective of the training was to ensure that there is local capacity within the municipal sustainable rural development councils to collect and analyze data on family farming.

A final event to gather results and lessons learned was held on July 21 through a webinar with the main stakeholders and representatives of the municipalities.
