Burkina Faso:

To strengthen the integration of green economy in Burkina Faso's National Policy on Sustainable Development (PNDD), PAGE is supporting the development of a National Green Economy Strategy, along with a three-year action plan for its implementation. An initial draft of the strategy has already been put forward by the government, highlights of which include action on green jobs, sustainable consumption and production, green finance, combatting climate change, and national capacity building on green economy. You are welcome to have a look at the draft, share with your delegations in Burkina Faso and provide your suggestions by 29 January 2017.

Expression of interest to join PAGE in 2017:

In response for the call for proposals, five countries have expressed interest in joining PAGE in 2017: Guyana, Indonesia, Pakistan Palau and Uruguay. There was high level communication from Nigeria and Sri Lanka but written expressions were not received by the Secretariat. These expressions are currently being assessed by PAGE Secretariat and will be discussed during the PAGE retreat later this week.
