Argentina:  PAGE supported the development of an assessment report on Green Jobs Potential in Argentina in 2017/2018

Brazil (Mato Grosso State): PAGE has delivered a workshop about sustainable tourism with the public and private sector on the end of March. This has been realized together with SEBRAE MT - The Service of Support to Micro and Small Companies that work in the development of entrepreneurship

Burkina Faso:  ILO focal point together with the National Coordinator and the National Focal Point meet with the Director General of Green Economy and Climate Change, Maison de l’Entreprise du Burkina Faso and the Master trainer on GERME for Burkina Faso to select 5 to 10 enterprises to receive a support  to complete the greening of their businesses. This support shall lead to the development of a package for training and coaching green entrepreneurs. This pilot coaching and training of selected enterprises will serve as a basis to upscale the greening of the enterprises in Burkina Faso. 

Ghana: PAGE is supporting the development of a national industrial resource efficiency policy and programme, using lessons learned from demonstration projects in the oil palm and steel sectors that aim to show how significant resource savings (energy, water and materials) could result from such a policy. The proposed policy and programme will also draw on examples of policy and programmes in Tunisia and South Africa. Both the demonstration projects and recommendations on the policy/programme should be completed by June 2019.

Guyana: PAGE supported capacity building for media workers on green economy concepts; for public and private sector professionals in green fiscal policies; and economic modeling (system dynamics) for professionals in public sector finance. These workshops were conducted for building capacity to implement the Green State Development Strategy: Vision 2040, Guyana's inclusive green economy policy document.

India:  India has taken several steps in resource efficiency related work. A guiding document as ‘Policy Brief on Resource Efficiency’ was launched by Ministry the of Environment, Forest and Climate Change last year, which aims at mainstreaming a Resource Efficiency (RE) & Secondary Raw Materials (SRM) strategy based on life-cycle approach targeting reduced abiotic resource use, especially of high priority materials in selected sectors, and addressing issues that cut across life-cycle, materials and sectors. The Ministry has also set up a Resource Efficiency Cell along with a high-level resource efficiency steering committee which aims to mainstream sustainable production and consumption in policy and practice in the country. UN Environment is a member of the steering committee on RE established by MoEF&CC.

Mauritius: PAGE/UNEP FI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Business, Enterprise and Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development have initiated discussions in January to start a study that will facilitate SME’s access to finance and that will help to strengthen implementation of the SME Master Plan that was launched in 2017 by the Ministry of Business. A working group consisting of stakeholders from the public and private sectors has been set up to oversee the implementation of the green finance project.

Mongolia: The government of Mongolia adopted the National Policy in the Construction Sector in Mongolia. PAGE supported the consultation of the working group to review the draft policy document and supported the integration of concepts related to green economy, sustainable development and climate change.

Peru: The National Competitiveness and Productivity Policy was formally adopted on 31 December 2018PAGE has supported the installment of the public-private committee for the drafting of the Environmental Sustainability Chapter of the National Competitiveness and Productivity Plan (Objective 9). The committee met on March 19th during a workshop, under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment; divided into 5 thematic working groups, and started formulating ideas of possible green growth measures that will feed into the plan.
